Art Showcase

the happy hearts academy

This week has been one of those weeks that I was not able to get very much done.  It seemed like everyday there was something we had to do.  I am looking forward to a starting a great new art program that my friend Tracy from A Slice of Smith Life filled me in on.  I plan on working on that today, so I may have 2 post for Art Showcase this week.  Tay is busy working her way through Drawing Textbooks and she is really having fun with it.  She is learning so much each week, and her drawing skill is improving as she goes.  In the first picture, the drawing of the box surprised me.  Tay was able to make that box look like it was open, as well as if it were a little bent.  She really gave it life!

Art Showcase has been so much fun for me each week.  I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do.  I have been planning some new things for my blog and am excited to share as soon as they are all ready.  Have a wonderful weekend!  If you would like to add your child's art work please link up below.

Art Showcase

I love this part of my day.  Looking through what the kids have created for the week and choosing one for the art showcase always brings a smile to my face.  I am so happy that the kids are taking time with their creative side.  We are just having so much fun with it!  Here are our choices for the week.  I hope you enjoy.

Art Showcase

the happy hearts academy

Well, I am a little late in getting this post on today.  I apologize, but we were just in the mode with school today.  I will run the Art Showcase link up through Monday this week due to my tardiness.  Today, all three kids have great art work to add to the showcase.  I am having so much fun watching Buddy grow in his creativity, and the girls helping him along the way.  Here are the kids contributions for the week.  Please enjoy, and have fun creating!

Art Showcase

This week I am very excited to share Tay's work for this week.  When we were in Disneyland, there was art show on every night that we watched.  The artist on the show was using acrylic paints to make marine life.  Tay was so interested in learning how to make sea turtles that she couldn't wait to get home to try it out.  Yesterday, she took out her paints and from memory began to paint the painting the artist was making on the show.  Here is her finished product.  She is so very proud.

A painting of sea turtles under the sea looking up towards the sky:

Art Showcase

Happy Friday!  I have really been out of touch the last couple of weeks.  I am really trying to get caught up, but you know how that goes at times.  I am enjoying taking the time to go through the kids art work to add to the art showcase.  I think it is a great way to be able to keep the memories of the kids work alive in our minds.  If your house is anything like mine, there is paper everywhere.  Although I love the creativity of my kids, I am not sure what to do with all those papers.  I am now taking pictures each week to add to the showcase.  The pictures save the drawing/painting and the kids love seeing their work on the computer.  It has really helped with the overload of projects around the house.  If you would like to show off your kids work please link up this week and have some fun!

Art Showcase

I know that I have been MIA this last week, we have just been trying to catch up from Easter, plus the kids are not feeling that well.  Tay is now getting better, but she had bronchitis, and then there is Ash, who is slowing getting worst with her respiratory issues.  Buddy is fine for now, but we shall see.  We had some short school days this week, but plenty of free arts and craft time.  Tay love to free draw, so she was in her glory.  Ash did a lot of coloring this week, but she also was able to have fun doing one of her favorite things, puzzles.  Buddy loves puzzles as well. and joined in the fun with his sister.  Here are our entries for the Art Showcase this week.  Please feel free to link up your kids creations this week!  I can't wait to check them out.

Tay's drawings this week:

Ash's Favorite Fairy Puzzle:

Buddy's Super Big Thomas The Train Puzzle:

Next week we will be back to some art work from out lessons, but this week was full of true creativity.  When I say full creativity, I mean creativity that was not directed.  The kids were able to just let loose and do what they wanted.  These are my favorite times, as I can really see what the kids are thinking and feeling.  I love what they come up with on their own.  Please link up below if you would like to share your kids art work for the week.

Blessings,

Kimberly

Art Showcase and Good Friday

Photobucketborder=”0″/>

Good Morning to all of you!  We have another great chance to show off our kids work here at the Art Showcase.  My first thought was to put this showcase on hold this Friday in observance of Good Friday, but then Tay was a little upset with this decision.  I have decided to go ahead and have Art Showcase as usual.  This week Tay's work comes from Drawing Textbook again.  Ash was focusing on words that start with J this week and she drew a picture of Jesus with a bright light around his head.  Buddy, again was super busy working with play dough this week and stickers, as I previously talked about in my Attack of the Stickers post.  Here are this weeks creations!  Enjoy.

Art Showcase

Hello everyone,

This week was a little crazy as we had a lot of things going on.  I had the kids do free art this week.  Actually this is Tay's favorite time, free art.  She likes to let her creative side shine.  Tay is one who would rather create on her own, instead of being directed.  Ash is usually the opposite, she likes to be given an idea and then create from there.  This week was a little different.  Ash was able to have a play date today with a friend who she has not been able to see since she got sick on New Years Eve.  She was so very excited and was able to create her drawing right away.  Such a great day!  Please take a look at our gallery for the week and link up if you would like to add your kids creations.  Have fun and enjoy!

Buddy was not really into drawing this week, he was more into doing puzzles, so here is one he did with some help:

Art Showcase

Photobucketborder=”0″/>

Here we are, another Friday.  It is time for the art showcase once again.  My kids are having so much fun with this.  They really enjoy creating amazing art and then helping pick what they would like to add to the gallery for the week.  Here's our additions to the gallery:

Tay's art lesson from Drawing Textbook:  She is really starting to improve her shading skill.

Here is Ash's vision of what the Garden of Eden was like when the snake came into the lives of Adam and Eve:

Buddy made a drawing this week, but then decided he wanted to try his scissor skills out on it.  I have learned to place his work in a "special area" so that he does not add to his creations.  If you would like to add your child's art work to the gallery, please link up below.  Have fun with your creations this week.  I look forward to seeing all the amazing work.

Blessings,

This week has been a great week for art.  It has been raining all week with pretty strong winds, so art was done as a supplement for playing outside.  I have some great pictures for you all.  Please take a moment and link up to add your child's work to the gallery.  Have a great weekend!

Buddy's drawing of a fish:

I have decided to leave this link open throughout the week as I know we all do projects at different times.  I know that there are days that my kids just pull out the paper and crayons and start creating.  If you would like to add your child's creation to the art showcase, please link up below.  Happy Creating!

Art Showcase and St. Patrick's Day

This week I decided to tie in the Art Showcase and St. Patrick's day.  We did a couple of crafts yesterday and had a great time doing them.  Please feel free to link your child's artwork/craft projects to the gallery.

Today, we were very busy as we celebrated St. Patrick's day as well as Happy Hearts Day (more to come on that).  To kick off our day, we tried to all wear green.  We then took some time to learn about St. Patrick.  We read stories and then the girls and I had a discussion about some important aspects of his life.  After story time we moved on to crafts.  We made a St. Patrick card and the Blessed Trinity clover, which I printed from Tracy over at  A Slice of Smith Life .  The kids had so much fun. Tay even looked up how to write Happy St. Patrick's Day in other languages.   Buddy decided that he was more interested in spreading glue all over his paper, rather than actually gluing his clover.  Oh well, the point is to have fun, right.  Here are the kids submissions this week.  I hope you all had a wonderful St. Patrick's day.  Enjoy the gallery this week!

Art Showcase

Photobucket

Today is Friday, so it is time for The Art Showcase.  Please feel free to link up your child's art work to add to the gallery.  Here are the kids entries for the week:

Tay made a great picture of two zebras.  The idea behind this drawing was to use patterns to create a design.  Tay really had fun completing this project.

This next drawing is from Drawing Textbook from our lessons:

Ash was learning the short a sound so we made a great picture of Adam under the Apple tree talking to the sneaky snake.

Here is a duck family that Ash created from Draw Write Now:

Here Buddy's interpretation of an alien in space:

I hope you enjoy the kids projects.  We had a great time making them!  Thank you all for reading today. If you would like to participate in the Art Showcase please link up below.  Feel free to grab the Art Showcase button on my sidebar.  Have a great day!
